Title: Founding Leaders
Composing Technique: Aspect Ratio (horizontal) with cropping & rule of thirds
Purpose: My intention was to show all three statues of prominent leaders in Virgin Island history. To do this the use of horizontal aspect ratio was needed to capture all the image details. The original photo had to much dead space in it with the aboveground sky and the street below the statues. My solution was to crop in to fill the frame but if you notice the statues are not completely centered. This photo was cropped using the rule of thirds starting with the base of the statue.

Title: Picking
Composing Technique: Focus the viewer's attention, backgrounds, simplify the scene, with contrast & rule of thirds
Purpose: My intention of this photo was to show the contrast of the gold jewelry against black skin versus the contrast of the unripe mango. To emphasize the photo I used blur to focus the viewer's attention to the hand instead of the leafy background, in turn using two techniques to accomplish this. I simplified the scene by cropping in and getting rid of all the dead space to bring emphasis to the hand picking the fruit and if you observe the photo you can see the hand stretches' from the bottom left corner of the photo, utilizing the rule of thirds and the mango itself is also in the space of thirds in the photo.
